Hip Hop for Kids w/Marissa Hehir (suggested ages 8-10)
Oct 23rd @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 4:00 pm on Friday, repeating until November 6, 2020
Marissa has been developing her passion for dance over the past few years. Although she did take some formal classes as a kid, she never felt truly inspired by the classroom setting and was pulled away from it by work, traveling, and an all around crazy schedule. In an effort to take a hiatus from chaotic life, she spent some time living in New Zealand. Finally with some time and free headspace on her hands she became inspired by pop choreography, hip hop, and kpop performances and dove in completely, dedicating herself to learning and improving. It did not take long for her to realize that she is her happiest self when she is dancing. Since then she has been finding any place she can to practice and improve her skills -sometimes even in the middle of a crowded beach or on a downtown sidewalk- and taking classes whenever she can. Recently she has studied various styles including hip hop and contemporary at UVM. She finds that she is moved by whatever music she is listening to and develops her choreography based on that song’s style. Through her dance classes at the Swan Dojo she hopes to share her love of music and movement with others in a fun, welcoming, and low pressure environment.
$12 for one class and $58 for a 5 class pass!
